# Is there a xiangqi equivalent of fast tactics training like chess's Puzzle Rush?

These answers restate the rules implemented by our open-source engine, which follows the WXF laws and is regression-tested against the official 110-diagram repetition casebook. Where an answer refers to a specific position, that position lives on the linked reference page, where the build verifies it against the engine before publishing.

> **Yes, in principle**, though nowhere near as standardised or widely adopted as chess's well-known timed puzzle formats. Xiangqi platforms with puzzle collections exist, and some offer timed or scored modes, but there is no single dominant format that most serious players recognise by name the way chess players recognise Puzzle Rush.

## Why chess got there first

Chess's online infrastructure and player base are considerably larger and more centralised around a small number of major platforms, which made a single, polished timed-puzzle product both commercially viable and widely adopted quickly. Xiangqi's player base is large but more fragmented across regional platforms, which has slowed the emergence of one dominant equivalent.

## What actually works instead

A curated set of tactical puzzles, worked through steadily rather than against a countdown, covers the same underlying skill, pattern recognition under time pressure can be trained later, once the patterns themselves are familiar. See [puzzles](https://play.xiangqimaster.com/learn/puzzles?from=blog-body) for a starting point.
