# What is a xiangqi simultaneous exhibition?

## How it actually runs

Boards are set up in a circle or a row, each with a different opponent, and the strong player circulates continuously, spending only seconds at most boards. Opponents have the whole time between visits to think, which partly offsets the imbalance in strength, though the exhibitor's experience playing many games at once is itself a real skill.

## What it is good for

It is a low-pressure way for weaker players to face someone considerably stronger and see how a strong player actually handles ordinary positions. Results are lopsided by design, and losing to the exhibitor is completely normal; the value is in the exposure, not the outcome.
